In its 21st year, the RBMS was proud to sponsor the latest Wise Water Ways workshop. A unique experience focusing on the management of rural and urban streams and riparian areas. Held annually in NE Victoria, over 900 individuals from across Australia completed the 5-day course which provided government staff, consultants, university students, and others with the opportunity to learn, discuss and debate over a wide range of Australia’s water related issues.
Topics this year included discussing the theory, practice and on- ground techniques of stream rehabilitation, stream ecology, rural and urban hydrology, sediment movement, waterway geomorphology, waterway management, water quality, environmental flows and community engagement. Thanks to the keynote speaker Dr Sarina Loo, from the VEWH.
