At our Special General Meeting held on Monday 19 June 2023, we gathered to catch up and welcome in our elected committee for the 2023-24 year ahead.
With that we farewelled the following elected executive committee member from the 2022-23 executive role as Vice-President, Kathy Russell, departing after 2 years on the Committee. The RBMS would like to thank Kathy for her outstanding contribution and involvement on the Committee, with particular reference to her incredible achievements initiating the RBMS Honours/Masters Scholarships and chairing the 2022 RBMS Awards Gala Dinner. She went above and beyond with her dedication to the RBMS and its program and partnerships. And although she will be missed, we are thankful she is happy to continue to support the committee in other ways and continue to enjoy her presence. We appreciate and value all that she has achieved both for the RBMS and within integrated catchment management.
The remaining Executive Committee were successfully re-elected, with Josie McGushin staying on as Secretary, Apanie Wood is to continue as Treasurer and Janice Taylor as President. The RBMS is excited to have Ben Pearson, previously SEQ chapter lead join the executive as the new Vice-President. It was also great to see a good portion of existing general committee members renew their roles with Rhiannon Hughes, Victoria Vincent, Tiana Preston, Adelina Lawrence and Zoe Samson remain on board.
We are excited to welcome new general committee members Claire Fitzpatrick, Michael Cheetham, Edward McDonald, Marnina Tozer and Louis North. We look forward to your support, hearing your ideas and thoughts as we prepare for the 2023-24 year ahead. We have also received offers of support from our member base and we look forward to working together in the year to come. You can get to know more about our committee for 2023-24 below.
The RBMS would like to take this time to reflect upon the 2022-23 committee and their incredible efforts contributing to a fantastic year of events whilst balancing their personal life, work, and volunteering commitments and ensuring we remained connected. Welcome to any new RBMS members who have just joined and for those who remain part of our amazing network thank you for sharing your knowledge and learnings with the RBMS. We look forward to sharing more incredible content and connecting in person.
Janice Taylor, President of the RBMS
