Gunbower Creek, an anabranch of the Murray River in north central Victoria, has historically been operated for irrigation efficiency; it’s a ‘working river’. Generally, the flow regime in working rivers and creeks is managed primarily for irrigation and opportunities for Murray cod recovery are not fully explored.
Could the water regime in Gunbower Creek be managed to meet the needs of irrigators as well as the iconic Murray cod? That’s what a team of researchers from CPS Enviro, the Arthur Rylah Institute (ARI) and North Central Catchment Management Authority (NCCMA) wanted to find out.
Come find out what they discovered at our RBMS seminar presented by ARI’s own Ivor Stuart who will be joined by Anna Parker from North Central CMA and Kathryn Stanislawski, now at Parks Victoria. The seminar will be held at Ross House on November 28th. Join us at 5.30pm for pre-seminar nibbles and drinks before a 6pm start!
