The River Basin Management Society (RBMS) and local partners are proud to present the Highlights of 9ASM in Sydney.
The 9th Australian Stream Management Conference (9ASM) was held in Hobart in August, 2018. It featured over 100 presentations from researchers, students, and practitioners dedicated to investigating and managing stream ecosystems and catchments throughout Australia.
The Highlights of 9ASM seminar in Sydney will be an opportunity to hear a handful of presentations that were delivered at the conference by local presenters.
You are invited to come along and celebrate local research and share great ideas with your colleagues. Wine and cheese will be provided by RBMS and 2rog.
Following the presentations, we will also be discussing the role RBMS can play in NSW, enabling regular seminars and discussions regarding natural resource management activities and catchment management in NSW, and gathering interest in setting up a local chapter to operate alongside those already established in Queensland and Victoria.
Presentations include:
- Dr Paul Frazier (2rog) – Environmental water in the northern MDB: where does it go and what does it do?
- Tony Wales (Georges Riverkeeper) – Georges Riverkeeper Aboriginal Riverkeeper Team: a model for successful engagement of Aboriginal communities in natural resource management of urban areas
- Dr Tim Pietsch (Griffith University) – Dating river sediments, how low can we go?
We aim to make this event available online for those who would like to attend from Regional NSW. If this would suit you, please let us know and we will send you details.
