In recognition of World Mental Health day and week (October 10th-17th), the RBMS would like to start a new conversation around “Coping with the mental health challenges of working in river basin management and beyond”?
This session will not be recorded.
The RBMS is open to supporting discussion forums with professionals in sociology and psychology to dive into the impacts of the many varied challenges of working in river basin management including drought/water scarcity, bushfires and floods, eco-anxiety of a changing climate and pollution, burn out, to looking at intimidation/bullying/threats on the job and / or when publishing data and scientific research.
Panel of Speakers:
- Dr Sally Gillespie (former psychotherapist who presents talks and workshops on climate psychology and eco-psychology),
- Dr Lyn Page (TAFE senior counsellor, volunteer field psychologist with Red Cross, and a member of the disaster response network with the Australian Psychological Society) and
- Jessie Panazzolo (Founder of Lonely Conservationists)
Followed by a Q and A discussion forum where you can safely share experiences (not recorded) and ask any questions of the panel.
